Thanks for the great comments and support Wal, Southerly, Fullerton, Jay Aussie chrysoprase is found in the Marlborough region of OLD, also several deposits in WA, and mount davies in SA, there may be some I have missed, other members may know of more, please ad if you know more.

Jay, the major deposits are Chinese owned in QLD, there is one Aussie owned, Candala.
I have never been in this area, most of the choice material goes to china to be sold as jade, but its not a true jade, its sometimes called Australian jade as its color is similar to Burmese Jadeite, the best chrysoprase can sell for around $1000 kg, but imperial jadeite goes for millions a kg, will never get my hands on that gem, I think out Aussie choice chrysoprase is just as good.
