On the 11th and 12th October 2014  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

Info received today on this event:
------------------------------------------

White Cliffs residents have always wanted to get on the gem circuit so a big thank you to Brett and Jenny Brown, who 3 years ago, held the first White Cliffs Gem Fest. The Car Boot Sale was included the second year and has been a great success.

Come and experience the uniqueness of the opal fields, view a dugout, a camp, go for a spec on the field, could be your lucky day. The 2014 White Cliffs Gem Fest & Car Boot Sale will start at 9am on Saturday to 5pm and 9am Sunday to noon. Only $20 per day to book a table inside and $10 per day outside.

The kids will have fun with the Mobile Outback Toy Library visiting, a playground, painting and a gem pit to occupy them safely. Our local CWA ladies will cater morning and afternoon teas with scrumptious homemade goodies, tea and coffee all day. Lunch is going to be a spit prepared by Greg Graham and Rod Philips; enjoyed on bread rolls with or without coleslaw and a touch of gravy.

Leroy from Wilcannia is going to sing and play his guitar for us behind the hotel on Saturday night, Chris from Yowah will make it look easy to play the didgeridoo and we invite Brad and Honor back again and all musically talented people to have a jam and enjoy playing and singing with others, just for the joy of it.

Linda George of Linda George Jewellery will be silver smithing on the spot and taking orders for work.

Barbara Gasch and Doug Brook, will also have for sale the extremely rare books by Len Cram entitled “A Journey with Colour – A History of Queensland Opal Volume 1 and Volume 2 Part A, A Journey with Colour – A History of Lightning Ridge Opal Volume 2 Part B and A Journey with Colour – A History of South Australian Opal. Barbara Gasch’s book “Eye of the Beholder - A Life in Jewellery written by Cree Marshall can be purchased for $30.00 which entitles the buyer to meet the goldsmith artist in her dugout.

The yearly raffle will be a Diamond 9” Grinding Wheel and a piece of rough opal. Our local business owners, miners, jewelry makers, artists will be displaying their wares. Toowoomba Gemhunters Haven will be attending with a wide range of products. Grab some Christmas presents, there will be opal trees, painted rocks, White Cliffs opals, Yowah opals, pineapples, minerals, fossils, gems, jewelry, paintings, painted rocks, things for your hair, hats, magnets, White Cliffs souvenirs, quality second hand clothes, books, shoes and you never know just what you’ll find at a car boot sale.

Come and join us, we would love you to experience our lifestyle. Between the White Cliffs Hotel Motel, the Underground Motel, Janette and Pikey’s dugout stay and the Caravan Park, you are sure to find accommodation to your liking. To book a table or enquire about accommodation, please contact Jane Stevenson at janelee56@hotmail.com or telephone 0438790510.

This is a great chance for all ALFers to come out and visit western NSW.

Broken Hill mineral club show "Rock-On" on the 3rd, 4th and 5th, with field trips on the 6th and 7th.

Have a good look around the district and then head over to White Cliffs for their show on the 11th and 12th.

Great time of the year as well...

Trev
Cheers, from my little piece of the Australian Outback...
