Facetron bowl

Moonshaddow_dancer,

I noticed a photo of your "new" facetron bowl posted last October.  I gather the old one packed it in.  Was it one of those rubber ones and if so, how long did it last?

We sell on average 3 complete Facetron machines per month so there are Lots of machines out there.
Probably sell one replacement Bowl every 3 months so I guess thats a good indicator that the Bowls do last well beers

Thanks.  I've only had my Facetron since Sept.  I found the flexible side took a little getting used to.  Am now on  my 7th2
stone and find it convenient.  Before that after cutting a couple ofstones on the Club's Hall faceting machine I had been experimenting with an old Robilt tub machine with a jig that was 32 index octagonal plate on a shaft.  You rested the plate on the water bottle carrier and adjusted angles by setting the height of the plataform and guessing using a plastic protractor sitting on the lap.

I've noticed that if I forget to have the lap spinning Clockwise, it sometimes grabs the stone and takes a chunk out of the lap.  It hashappened a couple of times at angles less than 25 degrees.  Do you know if it is because I have not tightened the nut holding the lap on or the mast distance adjuster enough?

regards Gordon

I set my height by putting a cigarettte paper they use for rolling them by hand between stone and lap to tight but slides some. The paper is .0005" thick. Hope this helps.

Thanks Stevo, a good tip which I'll give a go.

I had forgotten to mention that the grabbing issue relates to my Facetron, often on a subsequent facet.

I recently measured a piece of alfoil at 1/100th of a millimetre.
Yours Sincerely
