Barbeque'd tiger eye pendant
« on: March 19, 2015, 05:00:29 AM »
Simple pendant made from the piece of tiger eye I cooked on the barbie :) This cab was done from the opposite end of the piece, further away from the heat source. It wasn't enough to turn fully coppery-red but it darkened, took on faint greenish reflections and developed a few small red streaks. The chatoyancy is very lively and moves in a single "lightning bolt" line.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

Cheers guys :)

The silver setting is just a pre-made bezel cup I bought - not sure you could make something like that for less than you can buy it.

The polish is a bit higher than it looks in the photo, I took it to #100 000 diamond - I think wife had been touching it with greasy fingers :)
