Have a good trip Rock Hunter. I see the date your going is the same as the VGCA fossicking trip to Flinders Island. So I guess you'll be tagging along with George F. If past trips are anything to go by, you shouldn't be disappointed. Will be looking forward to reading about your trip too.

We will have to catchup, the 18th will be our last day digging at Killiekrankie your welcome to join us for a dig. Planning to do 5days at Killiecrankie before exploring the southern part of the Island.

Late arvo on the 18th could be good for a fossick, low is at 4.26pm I can see myself walking back along the beach in the dark that day

Just got a phone call from the ferry, going Sunday 3am = extra day fossicking with perfect tide
Off to make more seives and mod a wheel barrow to carry all our gear on the beach. Not long now very excited  . Might get some sleep when I get there and stop dreaming about digging topaz all night.

Just boarded the ferry for return trip.  Found a few bits of topaz, meet TheRockHunter this morning on the beach with the rest of the club. I was coming back from a very early morning trip to catch the low and they were just heading out fossicking.
Beautiful place, had an awesome time. Detailed report in the next few days.
