Back after long layoff
« on: September 10, 2021, 04:18:51 AM »
Well I have just been on another Trip after a 4 year layoff caring for a loved one who sadly lost her battle 6 weeks ago. having just spent over a week at Tomahawk ck seemed to be just what I needed but I cant get over how overgrown Featherbed run was, apart from the camping area there were not many clear spots further in. Also I had the place to myself for the whole week so it is not as popular as it was? Anyway it was a good Trip found a few Sapphies and a couple of Zircons, but there is still just as much dirt mixed up with them as before.

I really want to go back to Tomahawk Creek, we dropped in for the day many years ago. There were some massive holes on the Feather Bed run, some almost like caves with Billy Boulder roofs.

Tripz sorry for the passing of your loved one.

Glad your trip gave you a chance to unwind.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

Lucky to get 2 ct cut stones out of the bigger 4, the yellow is 12ct but has some flaws. The zircs will cut bigger I think   ;D ;D

Nice one Tripz, nothing wrong with 2ct stones especially if they have nice colour. I'd love to be up there finding some :) Thanks for the pics.

Thanks Tripz, I love yellow sapphires so would be extremely happy with that one. Good haul.
