Next Location of the Month?
« on: September 03, 2015, 12:49:54 PM »

Hi,
Which location would you like to have as our next "Location of the Month"?

You can vote for up to three locations and you can change your vote at any time.

Don't worry if your favourite place isn't on the list .... I'll be adding lots more soon :)

I haven't quite figured out how best to handle large regions where there are lots of individual locations eg. Rubyvale, Torrington, Glen Innes, Harts Range etc  That's why they aren't on the list yet.  Probably best to cover each location in it's own post?

Let me know if you have any suggestions or would like any particular location added to the list.
Regards, Paul beers

Hi Paul,

I've got 4 weeks leave next March and was thinking of going fossicking up around Glen Innes for a couple of weeks, any information/locations on where to look would be much appreciated.

Hi Kelly,

this is an ongoing thread that Paul (Woofa) runs where we pick a location from somewhere within Australia - he posts a whole bunch of information about the gems found there and other members are encouraged to post information and/or photos related to the location.

When one location is done, he adjusts the poll so people can vote for what they might like to see covered next.  This is a follow on from some old "Gem of the Month" threads from a while ago which were run similarly.

Previous threads are here and may be of interest to you.

How about a few places down in Tassie like the Lune and Weld Rivers. You will have to be quick though as I jump on the plane Wednesday morning. A few days giving the legs a work out on the Three Capes track and then I'll go give the local Tassie leeches a feed.

Good idea mangomick .. I've added them to the list.
I've also removed the 2 locations that will be Feb/Mar 2016.
Regards, Paul
