I'm going to try *really* hard to get to Agate Creek/Mt Surprise next winter.  I nice flood this summer would be perfect :D

Most likely to be there in June July as probably will be on a holiday before then.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

Hi Wwoofa, any further action on this trip to Agate Creek? We are going to try again this year after last years disaster. Looking at this stage about 10 days around the middle/late May, then to O'Briens Creek for the same amount of time. Are you aware of anyone else heading north for the winter.
Regards

Some good rains and flooding have hit the region.  :)

Well the locals are already waiting for the Robertson River to drop so they can rush into the creeks and diggings at Agate Ck. Latest word it is that the Robertson River is now waist deep.  Time matches with previous years as Easter is the earliest you can usually get in if the river is down and the black soils have dried out and the track into Percyville graded.

The rain is good news for the station owners and fossickers. :)

The Safari Camp and Dots Camp (Robin Hood) at either ends of the reserve should be open with the first fossickers.

Will not make it up there till early May.  :'(

Will be a month and a half behind the first fossickers so I will have to search the creeks hard for missed agates and then dig.

Will leave some 3' down for you under an X  ;D

Seriously still lots of places to dig agates at the reserve, it all depends on how hard and deep (up to 2 metres) you dig.  :)

Catch you up there some time.  beers
