Gem Fest

Hi Everybody, As you will soon realize I'm new here. Myself, my wife and some friends are thinking of heading to Gem Fest in Q'ld this year and BADLY need some advice on where, what equipment and how to fossick in the area. All advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rob

As far as equipment goes, you will need digging tools - picks, shovels, crowbar and also sieves, wash drums and buckets.

Now, you say that you want to visit at Gemfest time and it is a good time to come here, but be aware that practically all accommodation (including caravan park sites) are booked out well in advance. If you are geared up for bush camping, you won't have any problems finding a spot in various locations around the fields.
