 I will be visiting Mckinnon Point in a week or so. Are there any stones to be found here?

If you are referring to McKinnon Point near Briagalong. Quartz Crystals of good quality can be found there. You need to cross the river at McKinnon Point (4WD needed) and head approx 500m up the track. On the hillside there is a spot where previous digging has occurred where crystals can be found.
