Great picture of Paul relaxing on a Yarrow Ck trip.  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

A great supporter of this forum,

Paul was one of the core members who helped us get this forum up and running - along with Jerry, Ted and Calx. When the MSN Group we used to hang out on closed down, they were the guys who encouraged us to create ALF and have continued to support it in the 8 years it has been going.

Just a really nice bloke who was always willing to help others in the hobby.  Will be very sadly missed.

Hi everyone, I am Sharyn, Paul's wife. I just want to say thank you for all the wonderful messages. Our family always knew how kind, loyal and knowledgable (about everything) he was but it is really humbling to here it from others.

He loved his fossicking and sharing his knowledge with others. He use to spend many hours putting together items such as the guessing competitions etc for this forum. He enjoyed hearing of other peoples finds, loved going to Minerama or just going local for a dig.

Paul was supposed to sit his final exam for the gemmology course he was doing via correspondence in Nov but wasn't well enough. He would have blitzed it and passed with flying colours. His plan then was to learn how to learn polish and cut rocks and do valuations, he even set up a little workshop with all the equipment.

Thank you Jerry for being a good friend to Paul.

Thank you once again.
Sharyn

Sharyn, my condolences on Paul's passing.  I enjoyed reading his pearls of wisdom.  I never met him so haven't posted until I saw some of the photo's posted by Paul (aka Wwoofa) on the gallery in today's random pick.

Leah's post above that he was one of the small group that helped start the ALF started me thinking about this post.

It is people like Wwoofa that keep the spirit of altruism and comerardarie that makes ALF so worthwhile.  It's a tribute to all the founding members, including Wwoofa.

Ma his memory live on.

One day I hope to get up to Glenn Innes and do some fossicking for myself.  In the meantime I have ALF.

Kind regards
Gordon
Yours Sincerely
Flash (Gordon)
