Think I have had my last day here - it has been raining a bit but nottoo bad. Today had my best effort got a 7.6 ct green (almost a cube shape so should yield a fair bit when cut) and a 6 ct zircon also a cutter, still its enough to keep the enthusiasm up for a return trip.  Talking to others and all had stories about the number of stones they have got at other locations, bugger

Bugger - dug my guts out for 2 cuttable sapphires and 1 good zircon. My wife does several bags of mine gravel for a 12 ct blue, a 9 ct star plus several other cutters around 4 cts and gets a cuppa and scones jam and cream included all for $15 per bag.  Suppose though its a bit like fishing get cold, wet and seasick for a few fish when a purchase from the local fishmonger probably works out cheaper

Try around the Sapphire/Rubyvale area - there are fossicking tours out of Glen Alva, which is a good starting point to learn what to look for.
