Drawing software

Can anyone suggest free drawing software that doesn't require a 6 month's TAFE course to use  it? I want to CAD my own cab shapes rather than having 50 million templates. If the programme was suitable enough, I would pay for one. All I have tried are either too basic ( WORD, Exel etc) or far to complicated and still not flexible enough.

This may not quite be what you are looking for but I use Serif PagePlus a lot when setting up files for printing or the like.

It is a full desktop publishing tool but it does have a really easy shape tool where you can put different shapes (oval, circle, modified squares or rectangles, etc) and when you adjust the size or dimensions by dragging a corner or edge, you can see the size in cm (or whatever you set the units to) in real time.

That might be useful for you when creating your own shapes.

I find it very easy to use and more than enough features for what I need.

I note that the version I am using (X9) is the last in the series and my next upgrade will probably be to the new product called Affinity Designer.  If you are happy with a legacy piece of software, then buying PagePlus X9 probably wont cost very much to try it out.

Might be worth a look.

For anyone else looking, Vectr is worth a look. Down loadable or Cloud for easy sharing. "Free" so has to be some hidden catch. Yet to find it.

 I have DraftSight that is a free version but dont use it much. I did use CamCad at work for a few years and it didn't stay close to it. Should be able to do lines circles and such. it also has some help which I never used much.

Starting to get a feel for Vectr and it is quite good. My main reason was I wanted to draw shapes and see how they looked. While a good set of templates is very handy still. I am hopeless at freehand sketching. Lots of you tubes on Vectr also so that is handy. I will check out some of the other suggestions also.

Have you tried Google Draw   If so, how does it compare to Vector?

Is that what it's actually called? I tried Googling it and only got a game.
Vectr has a good support service. Powerful but a bit complicated to use. I am guessing all vector style design programmes are the same. I think it is sort of a free alternative to photoshop.
