Hi Collene, it should be fine unless you've got a sports car that's very low to the ground. I've been in there before with a standard XR6 Falcon with no problems. If we get a lot of rain you might just have to park on the side of the road other than the carpark area, which is only 40 metres away from each other, there's a steepish pinch that sometimes gets slippery.

Hi All,
Pegatha and Myself will be there meet you at Powelltown Hotel, I've got a Holden Combo and I'm sure I'll get to car park.

After being within a whisker of the prize (and just the wife and I) two years ago (when I nearly stepped on a snake that was looking for love) I will be there at the pub, this time with my sister (who is made of sterner stuff) and her son. Safety in numbers? ;) Being from far far away I did not think I would get another opportunity.

Cheers.

Hi Guys,

I've gotta pull out for the 17th, I had to book the car in for it's 240,000k service which is a major, timing belt, idler arm, diff oil change, so far it's cost me over $800 in parts and I haven't even had the service done yet.

That Saturday was the only 1 that coincided with me not working and my mechanic being available for about 6 weeks so I had to take it because I need this done before I go to Tingha in early April.

I will catch up the next time round!!

If the timing belt etc is fixed we'll still be coming.

I would have LOVED to have joined you.  Unfortunately I am working interstate but am very interested in the next one if its on a weekend.

I have not been on a dig before and this sounds fantastic, I would not even recognise a stone if I tripped over it.  I hope to rectify that soon!

Cheers and good luck on the field trip

Trips are fairly sporadic faodail, maybe once or twice a year - depends on how many are interested. Could even have more.

Lapis Lupinus- Yes, I can imagine that it might be difficult to have all the right ingredients together to organise a field trip.  Anyhows one never knows, so let me know if you get any interest in another trip, as I too would be interested.  I am good for field trips over a weekend or public holiday.

It's a pity you can't come to Powelltown.
Field trips are fairly sporadic and pretty much ad hoc things, there's not a lot of good fossicking spots in Victoria sadly.
Keep your eyes on the forum though as the VGCA (Victorian Gem Clubs Assoc) have irregular trips as well, they are usually chatted about here.

Which part of Melbourne? There are some excellent clubs that you could check out.

The offer of some Agate to get you started I made on the other forum still stands, all you need to do is pay postage.

Hiya Pauls.

I am disappointed that I can't go.  I am away for work from Sunday to 23th.  I am hopeful that when the next one comes around I will be able to go.

Thanks for the very kind offer of the agate, I would really like to take you up on that offer!  Would you like it to be C.O.D or some other way?.

I will pm you. my addy.

Cheers

Serves me right for packing so quickly, just realised that my sieves are at home in Tassie, I'll still be up on Saturday, probably won't stay very long. Looking forward to catching up.
