Hi All,

Recently I was up at Inverell for a few days with my kids and another family and we organised to speak with Shaun (sorry if it is Sean) out at Stannifer.  He used to run the Tingha caravan park for several years but now has his own little operation called 'Jellybean Junction' operating from Stannifer.

I just want to say that Shaun is a really nice bloke in general and to deal with.  He took us out to a spot near Stannifer with great Jellybeans for the kids - though in that I found some very nice little bits of Citrine of amazing orange (I'll post a photo later).  He also had a few other really interesting trips available for bigger quartz crystals etc but not practical given the kids and the extreme heat!

Anyway - I just wanted to give him a shout out here and let anyone wanting to explore more around the Stannifer area it is worth giving him a shout out!

Mobile number for Sean is 0435 055 096.  Don't stress if he takes a few days to respond as he is sometimes out of mobile reception for a few days (reception is very patchy once you are even 5 - 10 km outside of Inverell).

Thanks for that Mr Sydney, always good to hear about another good place to visit when travelling through any area.

Went out with Shaun in November.  Found some lovely crystals (very nice clear one was 100 x 40).  Knows the area and where to find good ones.  Has good range of equipment, bags of wash, crystals, etc. for purchase.

Contact number is in first post of this thread.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

He charged $20 - but most of the places you can then go back anytime by yourself but otherwise you'd likely never find them.

  • "A GOOD DAY IS WHEN YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING"
I was in Tingha recently, I arrived on Wed 4th April and on the Thursday I rang Shaun from Jellybean Junction and got no reply(must of been out of service range) so I sent him a text telling him who I was and that I was interested in going out for a fossick with him, I also said I had 3 friends with me so there was a potential $80 in his pocket. You know to this very day at home writing this he has never got back to me not even just a courtesy call to say sorry can't help you at the moment!!
So in future when I'm in the area I'll give shaun a wide berth!!

Cheers Ranger Itchy beers

we dropped in but on the last day of trip unfortunately.  He gave some good tips on where to go but we ran out of time.  Nice guy and let the kids grab a handful of nice polished stones from his garden.

Does anyone know if Shaun has a website where you can purchase jellybean quartz rough? I am in SA and unable to go fossicking due to knee issues and would like to purchase some Jellybean facet rough. Thank you in advance.
