Dominatrix Lap
« on: February 08, 2018, 09:57:50 PM »
Hi All :)

I've just got myself a brand new dominatrix lap. Do I need to do something to it prior to using to break it in? I've given it a couple of goes and the final polish always has scratches on it. The Batt outer does have a bit of a ring to it when using which I don't get with my other Batts.

I've been using BATT laps for prepolish and polish with no scratching or cat hair issues. When I got those laps, I didn't need to prepare them, they were fine to use out of the box.

Thank you!

Same story with me . Have tried oily and water based diamond (100,000) and get scratches. I also did not do any pre-prep. Any help will be appreciated

The Diamatrix centre is not chargeable in the same way as a BATT or similar lap is.

It is more akin to a ceramic lap although a bit more forgiving than the traditional ones.

One possibility is just using too much polish.

Thanks Leah ,
Next opportunity I'll clean it off and try again with very little polish although the previous comment suggests it needs loading similar to a Batt.
My matrix lap is brilliant with Cerium on Quartz - hope I can get the same success with the Dominatrix on harder stones.
