Gyroc A squeaking issues. Maintainance info needed.
« on: August 12, 2018, 11:36:01 PM »
Hi. I have a gyroc A tumbler that gets used very regularly for polishing my jewellery pieces i make. However over the last month or so it has developed a very noisy squeak/screech that makes it hard to work in the same room while it is running. I am wondering if the machine needs some lubricating oil somewhere or any other kind of maintenance i can do. I can find no info on maintenance for the gyroc machines anywhere.

That sounds like a bad bearing. Bearings are reasonably cheap. For those small ones just a few dollars each.
Do something sooner rather than later, a siezed bearing can chew the shaft and then you will be up for a new shaft as well as bearings and it could cost you quite a bit.
It could be motor bearings or the bearings on the vibrating shaft. But most likely the vibrating shaft.
Give the shaft a bit of a twirl with your fingers without the belt on, any grinding grabbing feeling in the bearing will indicate the faulty one, they should run smoothly with absolutely no noise when twirled rapidly.

Squeek has been resolved. got into the bearings and added some high temp grease. word of caution to anyone who attempts this, don't pack the grease in otherwise it won't run. just a light coat works wonders.
