Just like to say hello to everyone and just say, I am new to the hobby (Very very new) I decided that I needed a hobby ( I am a full time carer), so I have a metal detector arriving next week so I can use that as well, also hoping there is someone in my area that I can possibly go with and learn from, I am from Tura Beach nsw

Welcome to the forum, kindu. There is a lot of accrued knowledge here, so any question should be answered as quickly as possible. Your next step would be to join a lapidary club. They will generally have the equipment and knowledge to help you polish anything you find and help you find it. Not sure if you have one in Merimbula, but I notice that Canberra, Ulladulla and Batemans Bay all have one, I know they are a drive from you, but then anything is a bit of a drive from you I suppose. While I don't have a lot of fossicking experience in your area, someone here will I'm sure.

Hi Kindu, I'm from Tura Beach just north of Merimbula, we haven't got a Lapidary Club as such. But there is a group of us that meet once a week and do a bit of fossicking around the place. I will message you with my contact details.

Well met up with Kindu this morning, introduced him to my lapidary group and I think he might be hooked. Anyhow great to meet another perspective Rockhound. Are in the process of organising a couple of outing and he seems keen.

Yes - deleted a whole bunch of duplicates yesterday.

He has previously contributed to the community but this kind of posting is very spammy.
