Facet design wanted

Hey Rusted, great job - a credit to you.
I have got my machine back and just cut the pavilion on a test piece of smokey (looks like it will only yield about 15 mm at the girdle). Can I ask how did you sequence the crown cuts with regard setting girdle width - did you just follow the design as kindly supplied by Makky or did you identify those facets running parallel to the girdle and work from there?

I just worked from the girdle, be extra careful with some of the small facets up near the top, its probably best to undercut them and then bring them in when you polish, they really cut quickly. I started with the back of the head then did the trunk, the ears and last the face. Those little facets around the eyes and the gap between the tusks and trunk are the killers.

I'd also cut the second version Moth, it all meet points and may be slightly easier to cut. The large diagram should help a lot, even to judge facet sizes in relation to others.I hope you have success

Yep, what makky said. That large diagram is a must. Print it out and use it for notes.
