Diamond Cutting Blades
« on: November 06, 2020, 01:06:10 PM »
Hi learned people, I have used a 7" MK303 diamond sinter blade on my Lorton trim saw for about ten years, just recently I purchased a new blade and was cutting Petrified Wood, id cut three pieces of the stone each about 6x3 into 5mm slices when id finished cutting the wood, I had no diamond cutting edge left and was down to the metal of the blade.  Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong, as these blades have been great for Agate, but its the first time I've actually cut petrified wood with them.

Help ;)

Looks like you may have purchased a diamond plated blade not a sintered blade. I use a Mk303 on one of my saws and I also have a plated blade, plated came with the machine and though they look good are cheap, nasty and the diamond wears away quick.
