VJ transfer jig accuracy tips?
« on: December 06, 2020, 09:46:48 PM »
howdy

Im relatively new to faceting and am having trouble getting accurate transfer alignment with the current gen VJ transfer block. Ive been lucky enough to use Ultratec and polymetric jigs in the past (friends), both super accurate and easy to use but am really struggling with the fixed VJ jig + alignment tool and the dops that extend past the total length of the jig.

Any other VJ users have tips for accurate alignment? Im getting sick of so much cheater adjustment after transfer

Thanks in advance!

Hello Serano, it may not be the transfer jig that is the issue. Is it an approximately similar cheater adjustment for each stone after transfer? If so, maybe the issue is that at at zero index (96, 64, whatever your index wheel) that setting is not parallel with the master lap. Use the supplied T-bar to ensure the index setting is flat on the master. The supplied instruction should take you through the steps. While doing this ensure the cheater is at "zero", but it can also be loosened and zeroed.
All the best
Bill
