australian made Cabbing machines

Hello everyone,
I am wanting to find out if there are any Australian made Cabbing machines?
I have been looking at machines, but being that they are all from the USA everyone is out of stock and don't know when it may become available.

Looks like every man and his dog are bored outa their minds, there's a waiting period for both...everyone's cabbing!

Where's Lortone made?

Anyway,, found the one from QLD, GEMSTAR Straight 8 Cabbing Machine.

I personally would always suggest to go for one that supplies fresh water from the top to each wheel instead of recycled from the drip tray.

Lapidary Slab Supplies based in Mackay Qld are worth a look for locally made cabbing machines.  They have a website but also on Facebook.


My CabKing (purchased from Aussie Sapphire and made in USA) did a great job for me but I'll be looking at local options when it's due to replace.

I've had a Robuilt Cabbing machine for about 20 years and have been satisfied with the job it does, the machines are made in Melbourne, the only thing I have had to do is recently replaced a bearing.

Gemcuts from Ballina now make the Gemmasta machines - Shell-Lap sold out to them a while back.

Dont think they have the faceting machines up and going yet but making some cabbing machines.

Lortone make machines but we (and everyone else) have been having lots of trouble getting stock out of any USA suppliers - covid has hit them very hard over there.
