O'briens Ck
« on: March 24, 2021, 08:13:16 PM »
Hi Everyone
Has anyone been to O'briens Ck recently?
Is the camping ground still operating and if so, is it still being run by the same people?
It's been about five years since I was there, but I'm eager to get up there this year.

It's great to hear from you guy's, are you both still fossicking?
The second aqua I find is yours, I've promised the first one to my grand daughter who wants to come fossicking.

We lost our bit of aqua we found at OBriens. Never put stones in zip lock bags on the dash board  :'( Would have cut some nice stones.

I had a good couple of days fossicking these past few weeks.......pulled all the rough out of the cupboards and boxes.  ;D
You could say the bug bit again and I'm armed with vids to check things over and I'll kick the lap into gear next week...or hopefully this weekend.
Oh that's awesome your GD is keen to go with you! Gosh, how old is she now?
Keep em comin!!!

 Hi Claude,
Have not done any fossicking since middle of 2019.  It has taken me a long while to recover from last year.

Starting up again in a months time if the waters subside for my trip up to Agate Ck . ;D
Will have to look out for you if I stop at O'Briens on my way home in July.
 beers Jerry

Oh that sucks!

I know when starting out with the jewellery and attending markets, I used to wrap the items in tissues so the metals wouldn't scratch each other. That was okay for awhile... until I realised that while storing them in a particular cupboard, with the OH also going in there, something was bound to be moved, fall out of the bag etc and hubs just tossing the tissue. Lost a fave pair of earrings I'd made that way.

I'm also guilty of putting small things in their plastic baggies inside the handbag...sometimes I too wonder what I've accidentally tossed or has dropped out while I've pulled out the purse to purchase something else at a show.

LOL, I'm not in the league of needing a backpack like some of the guys who do Tucson, but maybe I should look at getting a container of sorts that will still slip into the bag.

You need a permanent container for the car by the sounds of it.
Keep em comin!!!

maaaaate, what are you doing?????
You're not supposed to do that! LOL, if we hear of any out of the norm stampede of fossickers akin to the gold rush days in areas that normally wouldn't get a second glance, we'll know to ask you if you've been there recently.  ;D The Makky Booty!
Keep em comin!!!

Hi Jerry
Sorry to hear that you wern't able to get out there for awhile, I know how that feels.
We'll be at O'briens Ck (hopefully) on the 19th July and spend a few weeks up there, would be great to catch up if you're up there at the same time. We're going to stop at Lightning Ridge on the way back for about a week, if you're interested.
