South Australia fossicking
« on: May 22, 2022, 08:42:06 PM »
Hi, I'm travelling to Port Lincoln SA, heading off on 26th, I intend travelling to Warnambool and visiting a daughter and then heading west to Port McDonald, I've been told that there is a Flint deposit there, can anyone give advise on there to look.  I then intend travelling north to Port Auguster and then down the Eyre Penninsula, I know that there is Jade at Cowell and possibly Malachite, also that at Kimba there Amtheyst is that correct.  Any other places you make suggest would be great, intend on being away for a month.

I think my memory is correct about the Flint at port McDonald. Anyway somewhere down there, I know it was on the coast below Mt Gambier fairly sure it is Port McD.
It is on the seashore, there is a drift of it that is huge, basically the whole shore is Flint nodules., The road is quite close to the shore, So you can see it from your car.
