Thank you RC - found my Tom Herbst AGF VOL 1 & 2 yesterday afternoon - just looking to put together a kit or parts list with the latest evolution and see what can be done without affecting my fun. Like wooden boats some projects become all work and less play than expected. Much obliged - I will it seems have the room to put a table on MB's supernova - love this pale blue lab created Zircon from Pnom Penh - the blue is underwhelming and almost white.

Again thank you Frank, this is great! I'll get the list, collect the parts and focus on how to revamp a Patriot 8 into a 100 + facet stone cutter! MB's supernova is shaping into an eye-tickler - makes my pulse jump every time it comes up for a look-see. Tom Herbst Vol. 1 & 2 are challenges to my 80 year old brain but not the first time editing a sleepy curiosity. Thanks for the foot up! 👍

Got it - thank you Frank, something else - been wondering about - my platen to mast clearance across my 8" Corian. The stone to lap contact is higher on one 1/4 (side) then as the sweep passes the halfway sweep the contact reduces to minimal. Talked to customer service at Patriot 8 and was told the perfect platen would be called a 'block.'

My work around is using the 25% of the lap where contact is meeting the set angle to maintain a level cut - center to edge. It's working and the entire lap is getting used so... is this abnormal or all that can be expected? Perfection would be equal contact sweeping full arc - is this expecting too much?

Thanks, was quite happy how it turned out, was wondering if it was going to be too dark when trying to orientate it, but it was OK and had lots of flashes in interesting, deep colours.

Yes, fairly distinctive colours/pleochroism. You can really see the characteristic 'Fusion' pavilion coming through as a 3-D star.
