*New mission people* blood stones NSW

Alright guys out new objective is to find any locations where you can find some really good blood stones in NSW the closer to the cenny coast the better.

Ok ok I’ll drop the whole mission thing for now
I need this for a signet ring for my grandfather that I’m making any help would be great

I found dragons blood Jasper on the side of the road south of Barraba, heading towards Manildra, it was about 7 years ago and a state forrest was on the right heading towards Manildra, sorry I can't be more specific with location, but it was beautiful stuff

Sorry it wasn't Barraba, it was Bingara NSW, on the road to Delunga on your right there is Bingara State Forrest thats where I found the bloodstone. hotthirsty

Coalcliff beach has a decent variety of Jasper and Agate that get washed up. I've found quite a few bloodstone there.

Yes -  I'd be curious as to exactly what shade is 'bloodstone'.

From memory, it's a green stone with red blotches.

Mehoose, your memory serves you well. I think it got its common name from a religious reference regarding the splashing of Christ's blood on the stone beneath the crucifix. The better specimens have previously come from India I think. It generally cabs and polishes well. I've seen it from straight dark green with no blotches to dark green with a multitude of finer red dots, the occasional one has a larger spot.

those are what my understanding of it should be like(green with red).If one does a google search for images...it looks like anything with red blotches is now being labeled bloodstone  ::)
