Mate be careful gluing anything near the culet, if you get glue on the point it will change the reflective properties and hence may upset the light return in the stone.

I know what you mean Bucket, I just use a toothpick to put glue on stuff like this. Anyway, I don't like e6000 glue, it's strong but also flexible and I was able to get my fingernail between the finding and silver ring and pull it off. Even though it had been on for 3 days, so glued it back on with epoxy.

Jamming Gems in the US stuffed up my order for 11 pendant findings and sent me the wrong stuff and want me to send it back. At the moment it's in Sydney and expected to get to me in about 8 days. They were good enough to mail me the 11 pendants, but they are going to get stuck in the Xmas mail and I won't see them for a while.

Sorry to hear about the stuff up with your findings. Bad time of the year for any mail! Sounds like you need to maybe start a bit of silver smithing. I mostly do free form cabs and when faceting, usually just cut to get a clean stone, whatever the size, so I was taught basic silver smithing at our club and find that gets me out of trouble when I do decide to mount any stones into jewellery. I'm not a huge fan and am no expert, but it's been forced upon me!

Got the stuffed up parcel from Jamming Gems and the weight of it did not match the content description, which was 3 pendant findings. It weighed 328g and I told them the weight and they realized they had stuffed that up as well. It was silver smithing tools, so they told me to keep them, it also had 2 silver ring findings in the parcel as well. That would be classed as a triple stuff up, 3 customers sent the wrong stuff.

Got my 11 pendants from the U.S. Monday, so far have fitted 6 stones, 2 round, 2 cushion 1 square and 1 oval. Much better quality and deeper than the Chinese stuff. Have had to glue silver rings to the bottom of nearly all the Chinese ones because the pavilion point protrudes.

3 more pendants off the production line, bringing the total to 20. An 8 sided spinel, round clear topaz and an orange coloured corundum cushion.

The stones are not much use sitting in display boxes, have already given some to family members and looking to make a lot more pendants. The U.S. ones are way better quality than the Chinese pendants, just the exchange rate is not good.

At least you pretty much know you are getting silver from the US.
