News in the USA of a spectacular gem material found in Northern Australia - Any here hear of it?

I remember when Painite from the alluvial deposits of Northern Burma  was the rarest gem - now it's being sold for peanuts from Mogok mines - what to believe?

Someone at my gem club was showing everyone this piece of mauve or lilac coloured quartz. He said it was being photographed for some magazines because it was the first of its kind found in Australia. Don't know how true it is. It was a needle brilliant cut

They had it on Outback Crystal Hunters trying to sell it. Weighed about 20t
