Been a while, as the topic says, has anyone mounted a dial so it can read handpiece position from the hard stop/angle vernier?

Been a long time user of the old shell-lap dial arm, but it reads off the block behind the index gear, and that's harder to adjust as it is fixed to the non-moving part of the machine. If I could get a dial gauge reading off that vernier it would simplify calibrating machine alignment and I could do it at any stage of cutting. Can we do better?

Makky Can tell you all about putting a digital angle readout on the Gemmasta. Apart from that a Beale Wooley depth of cut indicator is better than nothing.

Hello Shifter, This was where the gemmasta encoder mod started. Rusted I think, gave me the index to run the encoder shaft through a hole drill through the existing shaft to the encoder. Gemmasta's are trickier to mount enoders compared to Halls and Facetron. The mount is glued on with dextone and still going after many years.

Edit: Far out I just looked that was almost 10years ago ,  ??? ??? :o feeling old now.
